The Renaissance is an artistic era, and by extension cultural, which gave rise to the Modern Age and in which the ideals of the humanist movement that developed in Europe in the 15th and 16th centuries are reflected, leading to a break with the medieval world view: the revival of trade, urban life, the emergence of the bourgeoisie and strong monarchical powers, the great geographical discoveries, the unitary world view, the spread of classical philosophy, the separation of religion and philosophy, of reason and faith, also freedom of thought and great scientific knowledge.

The appearance of the printing press and the development of universities make culture pass from the monasteries to the streets of the cities: man is the measure of all things in a secular society that defended, perhaps, a more personal and direct religion , in which man becomes freer from religious institutions. The artists, without the obsession with specialization, were more versatile. Painters, sculptors, architects or musicians who still lived in a more artisanal than artistic world. For three days, we bring to Sant Miquel dels Reis a sample of all this wealth combined in various manifestations that will allow the viewer to enter a unique space to enjoy the most significant artistic expressions of our past.
